Q&A
Can all teeth be whitened?
We carefully analyze your tooth enamel to select the teeth whitening technique that is right for you or we may advise you that you are not a suitable candidate for the procedure.
Most stained teeth can be significantly ‘whitened” using advanced whitening and brightening treatments. Each procedure can brighten the colour of the tooth enamel, as well as remove stains and certain discolouration. Changes in colour due to superficial staining caused by coffee, tea or smoking can be lightened by up to four to five shades. When the gray colour is due to the pigmentation within teeth, it can be lightened by up to two to three shades.
How long does the whitening last?
Changes should last a couple of years on average, or longer depending on how well you maintain your dental hygiene. Touch ups may be required after the first year depending on your lifestyle and your preference.
Will I experience tooth sensitivity?
Dental whitening/bleaching procedures may increase teeth sensitivity for up to 24 hours afterwards. The reaction is very individual.
What do I need to bring?
As in any medical field, a thorough medical history is needed prior to any treatment being rendered. Please bring a complete list of medications that you are taking.
